NaTakallam is an award-winning, social enterprise that offers high-quality, curated language services delivered by refugees, displaced persons and host communities through the digital economy.

To date, more than 200 displaced persons have self-generated $1,500,000+ by connecting with 10,000+ individuals through language tutoring, translation services or through K-12 and university partnerships (including Yale, Georgetown, Columbia, and others). NaTakallam has been featured in dozens of media outlets, notably in The Guardian, Fast Company, PBS, Al Jazeera and Reuters and by the UNHCR in a video, article and recent blog.

Social Media Internship

The main purpose of the position is to assist NaTakallam’s Marketing & Social Media Manager with copywriting, editing, research and relevant social media tasks. The ideal applicant will possess excellent writing skills, research skills, attention to detail, global mindset and solid knowledge of the social media landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to our social media copy, monitoring our platforms, blog, community management, and more as relevant. Foreign language skills are highly desirable, notably in Arabic, French, Persian or Spanish.

Graphic Design Internship

The main purpose of the position is to assist NaTakallam’s Marketing & Social Media (SM) team with a wide range of graphic work through a variety of channels, digital, web, video and other as assigned. The Graphic Design intern will assist with the development and design of core NaTakallam graphics, social media visuals, collateral event materials, video creation and a variety of other creative tasks as assigned. The ideal applicant will possess solid knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms. The intern reports to the Social Media and Marketing Officer.

NaTakallam Project Development Internship

The main purpose of the position is to assist NaTakallam in the development of an exciting project that aims at providing Arabic classes to francophones (French speakers). The Intern would support the team in a wide range of outreach, strategy, planning, coordination, marketing and communication work through a variety of channels. The Intern would assist the team in all tasks relating to the conception, development, launch and monitoring of this project - including administrative and creative tasks. The ideal applicant will possess solid knowledge of the French-speaking market, previous experiences in project development or management, strong creative, organizational and writing skills, as well as a good familiarity with social media and organic marketing strategies. A fluent level in French and English are essential. The Intern reports to the Project team, including the Project Officer and the CEO.

The Project Development Intern’s primary duties include but are not limited to:
Creating visuals for social and blog posts using our original templates
Proposing improvements and creative ideas
Producing new design template as needed
Creating and updating various marketing and events collateral
Assisting with blog publishing and updates via WordPress
Assisting with basic video production (recording, coordinating, editing, etc)
Ensuring the respect of brand guidelines and the integrity of our brand identity
Attending weekly team meetings (online conference call)
Completing other relevant projects as assigned

The main purpose of the position is to support the Marketing Team with video content creation for NaTakallam’s social media, in particular the TikTok and Instagram platforms. The ideal applicant will possess skills such as video editing, creativity, communication, attention to detail, curiosity and a global mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging video content, proposing fresh ideas and staying up to date with new trends, features, and changes on the various social media platform, especially TikTok and Instagram. Foreign language skills are a bonus.

We are looking for a Program Officer who can provide administrative support and strengthen NaTakallam’s B2B partnerships focused on bringing language learning and cultural exchange to employees and students (such as universities, schools, & commercial and non-profit organizations) around the world. These partnerships serve to create an ongoing flow of income opportunities for NaTakallam’s displaced Language Partners (LPs).

NaTakallam is looking for a passionate writer and copy editor to create compelling content (in English) that will increase reader engagement. The ideal candidate will be creative, structured, detail-oriented, and with a curious mindset and willingness to learn. The candidate will be responsible for contributing to our online content, as well as our communications and marketing collateral. The candidate will work closely with the Marketing Manager.
